A creative cooking competition that this year has had many participants.
The competition, sponsored by VisitElche, Elche City Council, Generalitat Valenciana, Diputación de Alicante, Tescoma and Cajamar. It counted with the collaboration of Eurotoques, Susi Díaz and the gastronomy blog Carolus Cocina. 1,500 euros in prizes were awarded and the final was held at Susi Díaz's restaurant La Finca (1 Michelin star).
On Tuesday 22nd January we had the pleasure of being one of the finalists of the 7th Elche Pomegranate Creative Cooking Competition.
"When I received the call, I couldn't believe that, among so many participants, I was going to be among the four finalists. At that moment, I already felt like a winner..." says our chef, Ismael Bilbao.
Evenor Sevilla, from Restaurante La Masía in Alcoy, Marcos H. López, from Restaurante Manhattan in San Juan de Alicante, Cristina Gómez, from Restaurante Eneko in Vizcaya and our beloved chef,
Ismael Bilbao, have been the lucky finalists carefully chosen from around a hundred participants from all over Spain.
Paco Torreblanca, Susi Díaz and Lazy Blog acted as members of the jury and awarded the prizes in this way:
- First prize: Cristina Gómez (ENEKO)
- Second Prize: Marcos H. López (MANHATTAN)
- Third prize: Evenor Sevilla (LA MASIA)
-Fourth prize: Ismael Bilbao (SAMARUC)
From here, we would like to offer our most sincere congratulations to the winner of this edition, Cristina Gómez, a promising young woman at the age of 22.
It was an incredible experience that culminated with a fantastic aperitif in the gardens of La Finca Restaurant, owned by Michelin starred Susi Díaz.
We are already working on the dish that we will present for the next edition of the Elche Pomegranate Creative Cooking Competition.
