Dénia in festivities
This Saturday will begin the festivities of our city. Known mainly for the bous a la mar, declared of National Tourist Interest, and that every year become news. But the festivities of Denia are much more.
The consolidation of the festival according to legend is due to the healing of the population of a serious illness after taking in procession the image of the Christ of the Holy Blood on the initiative of the dianense Fray Pere Esteve, the “Pare Pere”, in the seventeenth century.
Today they are celebrated around the Day of the Most Holy Blood, which is celebrated on the second Wednesday after the feast of St. Peter.
In addition to the religious events, a multitude of performances and events of all kinds are organized for the enjoyment of locals and visitors.
